Choice of boat, reservation, payments, conditions...
To rent a boat in Ibiza there are many types available and the choice depends on your preferences. Motor boats are faster and will allow you to visit more coves or beaches in less time, but because they consume more fuel and are usually somewhat more expensive. Although the latter also depends on the size of the boat chosen:
Semi-Rigid Boats: They have a hard hull, also called a keel, and inflatable elements on the sides. These elements, although they are floats, work more like outer hulls and, above all, as shock absorbers. They are usually easy to carry and some can be rented without a captain. The smaller ones are single-engine, which makes them easy to carry and fuel-efficient. They are perfect to get almost anywhere, even the smallest ones you can beach them and go ashore.
Boats: these are rigid hull motors, usually made of fiber, which can be small or medium sized. They are fast boats with one or two engines, perfect for groups of friends or families with an average budget who want to spend a pleasant day on the different beaches and anchorages of Ibiza. There are also some available to rent without a captain, although it is always advisable to hire one as he will take you to the best places and know the best anchorage places, dangers, weather conditions and you will be able to enjoy your day boat rental in Ibiza without any worries
Yachts: bigger and more comfortable motor yachts, with two powerful engines, for people who want a luxury boat in Ibiza and want to spend a day in Formentera with all the comforts, as they are big and spacious. With all the details and catering and crew service on board. Also in some of them you will be able to sleep since they have comfortable cabins.
Sailboats: the sailboats are designed for groups who want to spend several days in a row on the islands, whether they are friends or families. Normally they are for moving around Ibiza and Formentera, do not have mooring assigned for the whole week but have mooring for boarding the first day and disembarking the last day. They are also available for one-day charters in Ibiza-Formentera, to celebrate events such as a birthday and there are very economical ones of different lengths, perfect for quiet people who want to enjoy a pleasant day or several days in a row.
Catamarans: normally they are for those who want to spend a week in the waters of Ibiza. Very spacious and comfortable boats. They are very stable and have little movement so if you get seasick on board this is undoubtedly the best option. They may also be available for day charter, although they are in high demand and must be ordered well in advance.
Are you clear about which boat you want? Enter our Boats section. Select by the type of boat: Yacht, Speedboat, Semi-Rigid, Sailboat or Catamaran. It is important to know in advance if you are going to do a day charter or more than one and the number of guests on board.
Once inside the section, look for the boat that best suits your tastes, your budget and your needs. You will see in all the boats files a presentation photo (all the photos are real, the boat is just as you see it), the boat model, the length or size, the price depending on the month you want to rent and the number of passengers. You will see that a +1 always appears behind, it refers to the captain.
For some boats you can make the direct booking and payment on the web. We recommend these boats as you will be able to see the immediate availability and you will not have to contact us before so that we can inform you if it is rented on the day or days you need it.
Once you are clear about which boat is best suited to your needs, you can make a reservation in several ways.

If you enter a file of any of our boats you will be able to see its characteristics in detail. In the file will appear photos of the boat. The photos are real and the boats are just as we show them on the web. You will also see the basic characteristics, such as length, beam, engine or engines, cruising speed, etc.
You can also see the prices for the different times of the year. Prices vary if it is low season or high season. In all the prices you have included some concepts like insurances, drinks, port taxes (in the boats with mooring), snorkeling equipment, music with bluetooth, etc. And then you can see below what is NOT included and what is paid separately, which is usually the captain and fuel. Except in the routes that have absolutely EVERYTHING included. A very good option if you do not want to complicate your life.
Below you will find a form to make a reservation or booking request. Choose a date, add your details, the passengers and book! It's that easy.
On the boats that are booked online you will have access to an online payment gateway where you can complete the booking process.
To formalise the booking you must pay the price of the boat without extras, you can choose a full day trip (8 hours), the rest will be paid on the day of embarkation before departure. If you want to extend the day you will have to inform the captain and he will arrange it and you will pay it at the end of the day.
We offer various forms of payment, by transfer to our bank account (after sending a proforma invoice), by debit or credit card (not AMEX), through a payment link that we will send you by mail or WhatsApp or by coming to our office to pay by card or in cash.
Yes, once the payment has been received, the reservation is formalized and you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the situation of the boat and the necessary documentation that you will have to bring with you on the day of boarding and what amount will be left to pay.
To rent with captain we only need a valid ID or passport of the owner of the boat.
If the rental is without a captain, you must present the certificate corresponding to the length of the boat. It is important that it is legible, approved and in force.
All documentation must be sent to us by email when you make the reservation or within the next few days, so we can speed up the process of signing the contract on the day of boarding.
You must follow the basic safety rules of navigation, you must know the area where you are sailing, keep the necessary distance from land, respect the maximum speed of 30 knots, do not navigate in dangerous areas marked on GPS, do not anchor in protected areas of the marine plant "Posidonia", do not carry more passengers than allowed (each boat has a permitted number of passengers). You must always inform us of the total number of people travelling on board and return at the established time. It is important for the safety of the people on board that these rules are respected and adhered to.
To rent any boat without skipper a minimum deposit of 1.000€ is required for smaller boats (6 metres) and this deposit will increase depending on the length and characteristics of the boat. During the rental process we will inform you of the deposit to be paid. The maximum deposit is 3000€.
For the boats that are rented with captain, a deposit of between 250 and 400 euros can be taken depending on the length of the rented boat and to pay for the fuel at the end of the charter. No deposit will be taken in cases where the fuel is included in the charter price.
If the tank has been used for fuel; when the passengers disembark the route is calculated and the cost of the fuel is debited from the tank. The remainder will appear on the card within 24/48 hours of the charter day.
If the deposit has been as a deposit for rent without a captain, upon disembarkation will be checked the good condition of the boat and its equipment and if everything is in perfect condition will be returned the deposit, this must appear on the card within 24/48 hours after the day of the charter.
Fuel is normally paid for at the end of the charter. On boats that are rented with a captain, the fuel can be debited from the security deposit or paid to the company employee who receives it in port once the route and total amount have been calculated. In the boats that are rented without captain, the fuel deposit must be filled at a gas station at the end of the charter by the client and must be paid directly at the gas station. In the event that the customer does not fill the tank at the end of his charter without a captain, the company will charge 30 ? plus vat for refueling service.
All our boats have a GPS tracking system that indicates the distance travelled, speed, and different parameters of the boat. With the distance travelled and depending on the boat and its consumption per kilometre, we calculate the consumption during the whole voyage. It is a very efficient and precise system.
When you enter each ship's file on our website, you will see information on how many passengers can sail during the day and how many passengers can stay overnight (in case it is possible to sleep on board). The number differs because to sleep on board will depend on the cabins available on the boat. Legally the charter boats have a maximum of 12 people on board plus crew, although not all boats reach the legal maximum allowed. Most boats have less capacity.
In the ship's records you will see a number of passengers plus a number following it. For example, 10 + 1. This information indicates that the ship can sail with 10 guests plus the captain. There are also boats for large groups of up to 150 passengers, all these boats are under different legislation and are mostly sailing boats and catamarans.
In the case of large groups, we can offer two or more motor boats (of small or greater length depending on the budget), in which they can sail together and anchor in tandem (one next to the other) or we also offer the possibility of renting a sailing boat or a catamaran of greater capacity. On our website you can see some of these boats for large groups. Ask us about the possibility of tandem and boats for it.
On the day of your charter and on board the boat
The embarkation and disembarkation will depend on where the boat is located and moored, but usually in one of the ports on the island of Ibiza, Playa de Talamanca or Playa de Ses Salines. We also have boats in the Port of Santa Eulalia and San Antonio if you wish to board there.
Yes, always before the departure you must sign a rental contract which contains the characteristics of the boat, rental information and the data of the owner of the rental, as well as the conditions of the rental and the rules you must follow. We will provide you all the information the days before the charter so that you have it previously and you can read it carefully.
On our website, you can see the different routes you can take. The most typical route is Formentera-Illetes, which covers the island of Espalmador in Formentera, which is a natural reserve with white sand beaches and solitary, Playa de Ses Illetes, where you can find the best restaurants in Formentera, the most crystalline water and the most luxurious and exclusive yachts, and Caló des Moro or Cala Pluma, to take a bath after lunch or rest before returning to Ibiza. This route is one of the most beautiful, as well as being one of the most economical in terms of fuel. We recommend it the most if it is the first time you visit the islands.
We offer alternative routes depending on what you want to visit... You can check our website with all the information about the different routes we offer. There are endless possibilities! Do not hesitate to send us your proposal if the place you want to visit does not appear on our website.
We have full day rentals available, which have a duration of 8 hours, starting from the contracted departure time. The company will always give a margin of 30 minutes for possible delays due to traffic or any other external cause. The boats must always be in port before the petrol station closes for boats without skipper or before sunset for safety reasons. In the event that the client exceeds the eight hours, the extra hour will be charged at €100 plus VAT.
The boats are always ready in port from 10:00 and it is your decision to embark. The usual time is between 10:00 and 12:00 so that you can enjoy the 8 hours of charter in the best possible sunshine. We can also advise you what time is best depending on the route you are going to follow. Ask us and we will tell you.
Yes, as long as the rental is contracted within the hours of sunset. That is, if the sunset is at 20:00 and the charter is at 13:00, for example. It should be noted that the boats must always be back to port before it is closed night, for safety. If the embarkation is made first thing in the morning in summer season (being the longest days) must request a budget to the company to extend the rental to more than 8 hours.
Normally all boats come with a free drink on board, except for a few exceptions with boats for large groups where it has to be booked separately. On our boats there is a large fridge with water, soft drinks (normal and zero coke, fantas, sprite), beer and ice. If you want any other drink or different from the ones offered, let us know and we will provide it. We also have premium drink packs in our offer.
Yes, you can bring your own food and drink. On charters without a captain, just remember that the captain cannot drink alcoholic beverages on board. Likewise, the boat must be returned in an acceptable clean condition. If not, the company reserves the right to charge a penalty.
Extras such as water toys (SeaBob, Wakeboard, Water Ski, etc), onboard menus, premium drink, ... must be hired before the charter and 50% will be paid in advance to make the reservation. In the case that the client decides to reserve some of our extras the day of the charter (once verified the availability of the requested extra) will be able to be paid completely the same day before the boarding.
If you want to cook on board, we recommend you to rent a sailing boat or a catamaran. In the motor boats it is normally not allowed to cook, anyway ask us about the boat in question and we will tell you if it is allowed to stay and cook on board.
There is a wide range of restaurants on both the island of Ibiza and the island of Formentera that offer the dinghy service (small zodiac to pick up passengers from the boat and take them to the restaurant). We can manage your reservation (previous notice).
Tipping the captain is voluntary and will indicate that the charter has been to your liking and that the captain has performed a good service.
Cancellations, responsibilities, problems...
You may cancel the reservation but you will be charged a penalty depending on the time until the date of the charter. If the cancellation is made more than 15 days before the charter date, the penalty will be 50% of the deposit paid. If the cancellation is made less than 15 days before the boarding date the penalty will be 100% of the deposit paid.
In case of bad weather on the day of shipment, the first option offered is a change of day whenever possible for the customer and for the company, on the contrary if the customer does not have availability of dates would be refunded 100% of the payment.
In the event of a breakdown before the departure of the boat, Boats4Ibiza would be responsible for offering a boat of similar or superior characteristics for the charter. If there is no replacement boat available and the client cannot or does not wish to change the date to another day, the total amount paid will be refunded.
If the boat has been rented without a captain and you hit or damage the boat and it is clear that the client is responsible, then the security deposit will cover these expenses. If the damage is less than the security deposit, the remaining part can be returned. If the damage is greater, the client will only have to pay the security deposit and the company will take care of the rest of the amount.
If the boat was rented with a company captain, the client will not be responsible for the damages caused by the captain, but he will be responsible for the damages in upholstery or elements of the boat that due to misuse or negligence can cause in the boat.
